A little about Soo and Tim's story, as told by Soo:
Tim and I met through a mutual friend who jokingly said he wanted to be invited to our wedding if things worked out. I didn’t think much about it and neither did Tim, who was told that he is being introduced to someone who’s “cute” by his friend. Our friend’s joke became a reality as we fell in love and decided to tie the knot.
Few months after we started dating, Tim told me that his friend will be getting married at a lighthouse in Maine. We took the first flight out of Houston and when we arrived at the lighthouse Tim got down on his knees and told me there is no wedding. I had no idea he was proposing because it was so windy that I could only hear half of what he was saying. It wasn’t until I saw the ring in his hands that I realized he was asking me to marry him.
Fernando was recommended to us by our wedding videographer Jud from the Luxe Film. After we looked at his work, we fell in love with his bright and candid style of photography. We met with Fernando and decided to have our engagement pictures taken on boats to reflect Tim’s love of sailing.
We chose to get married at Sam Houston Hotel because the Veranda room at the hotel was indoor, yet it offered outdoor feel. It was perfect for us since I wanted to get married indoor while Tim wanted to get married outdoor. Plus, it came with a beautiful view of downtown Houston at night and Chris, a catering manager we absolutely adore.
